It may be hot hot hot! but we’ve been having fun in Croydon for the last month.
30th June – Congratulations to all our volunteers who received their long service awards at our county BBQ. Thank you all for your time and commitment you give to Girlguiding Croydon, we wouldn’t be here without you.

1st June – Another fantastic day at the YOU London Croydon competition day held at Royal Russell School. We had 3 units from across the county who split across 7 teams taking part in various team activities such as rifle shooting, memory activities, task master challenges and minefield.

4th June – Ellen Mitchell used a skill she learnt 30 years ago at Guides (and not used in 25 years) in the very same hall where she now runs Guides, passing it on to the current lot of Guides where they learnt how to fold a flag, tie the knots and hoist it up the flag pole all learnt as part of their Guiding history badge.

11th June – Our 1st Shirley Rainbows spread the love and compost last night!! Lots of half term interest badges too plus one rainbow had painted a picture and made up a story for her storyteller badge and told it to all 23 rainbows who listened intently. Very proud especially as she has unilateral hearing loss.

11th June – Meet Bob, Jeff, Alan, Jimbo and others I can’t remember the names of. Tonight we made pet ropes for them to practice knots ready for our invent a gadget next week.

16th June – A great evening of ‘no bake cooking’. Brownies for Brownies, coconut ice and chocolate sprinkles marshmallows with 8th South Croydon (St.Augustine’s) Brownies.

17th June – Thornton Heath Rainbows
learn about Hajj and understand what it is. At Rainbows
we learn about each other.

21st June – 1st Thornton Heath Rangers. Thank you Jack Petchey motley looking crewe of secret agents but we smashed it with 8 minutes remaining then went for a meal in Nandos. Good time had by all.

21st June – 8th Purley Guides had a pamper night at their Radcliffe sleepover. Very talented girls!

22nd June – 22 out of our 24 1st Shirley Rainbows had a fantastic time yesterday at Bluebell railway on their Railway200 for event for Girlguiding and Scouting.
June 24th – Congratulations to Alex (Butterfly) who was presented with her 10 Years Award at her special birthday bowling event tonight. 4th Selsdon Rainbows had a great time marking both occasions with her.

25th June – 9th Selsdon Brownies had a fantastic night at Frylands completing the assault course and wall traversing. They were super fast and there were some aching shoulders next day, but great to see them all challenging themselves!

25th June – Fun evening on the field. Rounders, non stop cricket, shopping, frisbee and team walkers.
28th June – Our 1st Shirley Rainbows and 6th Shirley Brownie families loved Race for Life and have raised over £4500 so far!!
