There is always a lot going on in Croydon girlguiding. Here are a few of the highlights from May.
1st May: 1st Shirley Rainbows had a mini 1 hour sleepover ahead of our proper one at the end of May.
1st May: 12th Addiscombe Brownies are working on the Be Well theme this term and found this resource was fantastic. We made volcanoes, mindful colouring, positive affirmations, and a blanket fort.
8th May: 9th Coulsdon Brownies enjoyed one of the latest batch of UMA’s tonight – “Brand your Band”.
10th May: 4th Shirley Guides had a great night at Twist Museum thanks to a Jack Petchey Award

21st May: We threw the nights programme out of the window and took advantage of the lovely weather and had a mini sports evening. Everyone went home exhausted and happy.
23rd May: 5th and 7th Guides decorated pencil/make up cases using fabric pens and got ideas and recipes ready for Animal Bake Off after half term.
23rd May: 1st Shirley (St John’s) Rainbows decorated eco pots and planted them up with Petunias. Two pots per rainbow, one for the St John’s Church plant sale (this Saturday 12-3pm) and one to give to someone else outside of the family as an act of kindness. Despite the lack of sun we also learnt how to tell the time when outside without a watch by making sundials and using a torch to imitate the sun!! (Signs of the sun from Expore SB1).
23rd May: 9th Selsdon Brownies had a great evening, as one of our girls completed Part 2 of her Gold Award. She taught them how to make fondant ‘breakfast’ cupcake toppers, a skill she’d learned for her Baking badge.
did the Monster mash. It was a great activity. They learn about team work, differences, imagination and expressing themselves.
28th May: Guides spent a day at Google. They took part in various activities all based on coding
