September 2025 round up

Summer is gone, and the days are beginning to get cooler. At girlguiding Criydon we are ready whatever the weather does, so here is what we have been doing in Septeber.

2nd September – Many of the leaders attended the RRR =Relax Refresh Renew “Improvised Guiding – Breaking the Rules (safely)” evenings. There will be more formal trainings arranged for early next year. If you have a ‘specialist subject’, that would be useful to others, please do let us know your availability.

If you did not attend, please feel free to tell us about your training needs. Gift aid and challenging behaviour are topics we would like to cover but perhaps you would like section or programme training or something else?

17th September – The Guides made Geo caches which the girls are going to hide next week and we made slime as well as team games.

24th September – This evening the Guides hid the Geo caches they made last week and we did litter picking around Shirley Community Centre and the shops at the top of Bridle Road for world Clean Up day. As well as general rubbish a broken scooter too.

27th September – A great day at the Sanderstead Community Day!

29th September – Patrol Leaders from the 1st Shirley Guides had the opportunity to join the Faurefold Adventure day. They got to enjoy low ropes, fencing whittling, hapa zone, pizza making and giant games. They now have lots of ideas to bring back to the unit as part of he Guide Leadership award.
